Mercy River Hills Surgery Center is designed to provide high-quality, cost-effective surgical services for all patients. Patients receiving Medicare benefits make up an important part of our patient population. New guidelines for Medicare-approved ambulatory surgery centers have recently been placed in effect. This includes being informed of your rights as a patient at Mercy River Hills Surgery Center.

Effective May 15, 2009, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requires that ambulatory surgery centers inform their patients regarding physician ownership in a facility where your outpatient procedure will be performed.

Mercy River Hills Surgery Center is a joint venture between Iowa Ortho physicians and Mercy Medical Center-Des Moines. This means that both facilities share ownership equally.
